My List of The Top Ten Best James Bond Action Scenes.

Next week, the next James Bond movie Quantum of Solace comes out. I’m very excited. Casino Royale was my absolute favorite Bond film, and the new one is a direct sequel to that film rather than a stand alone story. I have seen every James Bond movie and my favorites are the original Sean Connery movies and most of the Pierce Brosnan films. Although, Daniel Craig is creeping his way to the top of the list of best portrayals of the character. Without further ado, here is my list of the best James Bond action scenes:

10. The Spy Who Loved Me – Bond Skis off the side of a mountain and his parachute opens revealing a giant British flag. It was great because up until that point the audience had no idea he was wearing a parachute. Actually, it didn’t even look like he was wearing a parachute. Maybe he just always has one.

9. You Only Live Twice – Bond uses Little Nellie, the helicopter that Q brought to him in a suitcase, to fend off other attacking helicopters. I’ve heard of people stuffing themselves into luggage. . . but a helicopter! I definitely miss Q.

8. Goldneye – Bond drives a tank through downtown St. Petersburg. Enough said.

7. Casino Royale – The entire acrobatic action scene at the beginning of Casino Royale. I especially love when the guy he’s chasing runs out of bullets and throws his gun at Bond, and Bond throws it right back at him.

6. Goldfinger – Bond talks his way out of being cut in half with Goldfinger’s giant laser. As pointed out in Austin Power’s, nobody just shoots James Bond in the head once they capture him. There is always some elaborate torture involved.

5. Goldeneye – Bond drives a motorcycle off a cliff without a parachute. He falls to catch up to an unmanned airplane plummeting toward the mountainside. He falls into the plane and then successfully flys it to safety. I don’t know a lot about physics, but I just don’t think there is anyway that would be possible. I want to see an episode of Myth Busters dedicated to this scene.

4. From Russia With Love – Bond dumps fuel barrels into the water. He lets the boats that are chasing him think he is surrendering and allows them to get close. Then he fires a flare gun at one of the barrels and it fries all of the other boats.

3. Casino Royale – Bond secretly attaches a bomb to the bad guy with the detonator. The smirk on Bond’s face after he watches his enemy blow himself up is priceless.

2. Tomorrow Never Dies – Bond and his partner Wai Lin, jump from the top of a skyscraper, holding on to the giant banner on the side of the building.

1. Goldeneye – The fight between Bond and Alec Trevelyan. They are eachother’s equal, and the fight between them at the end of the movie is just brutal.
